Employment Opportunities

Many of CLCE student positions provide a unique leadership experience and allow students to help facilitate service, social justice, and educational activities with their peers.  CLCE hires student administrative assistants, student program coordinators, and graduate assistants.  Most position openings are posted in November and April for the upcoming semesters, and students are selected for the following academic year.  CLCE hires students who are eligible for Federal Work-Study as well as Self-Help (Direct Hire) students.

Student Leadership Assistants (SLAs)

The primary role of a SLA is to support the mission of the CLCE, daily office operation, and sponsored events.  SLA will provide administrative support to CLCE professional staff and CLCE supervisor and lead no more than two specific CLCE programs under the supervision of a CLCE professional staff.  Students can be either Federal Work Study eligible (with an award for the current academic year to be considered for a position) or self-help hired based on available funding.

Andrew Goodman Foundation Vote Everywhere Ambassadors

The Andrew Goodman Foundation  Vote Everywhere program is a national, non-partisan, civic engagement movement of student leaders and university partners.  The program provides extensive training, resources, as well as a peer network to support its Ambassadors while they work to register voters, bring down voting barriers, and tackle important social justice issues on their college campuses.

Campus Vote Project Democracy Fellows

Campus Vote Project is a national, non-partisan partner dedicated to helping students gain access to the ballot and increasing youth voter turnout.  Fellows are an integral part of carrying out voter engagement and empowerment at institutions of higher education across the country.

Graduate Assistant

Graduate Assistantships are on-campus positions designed to supplement your classroom experience with practical experience.  The graduate assistantship application process and the academic admissions process are separate but concurrent processes.
